WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the index of import prices decreased by 5.9% in March 2016 compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In February and in January 2016 the annual rates of change were –5.7% and –3.8%, respectively. From February to March 2016 the index rose by 0.7%.
The index of import prices, excluding crude oil and mineral oil products, decreased by 3.6% compared with the level of a year earlier.
The index of export prices decreased by 1.6% in March 2016 compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In February and in January 2016 the annual rates of change were –1.2% and –0.5%, respectively. From February to March 2016 the index rose by 0.2%.
