Press release No. 124 of 7 April 2016

WIESBADEN – The redistribution of basic trade tax (shares) from management headquarters to establishments mainly benefited the municipalities in the new Länder in 2011. According to the trade tax assessment of 2011, they were in a position to consider more basic trade tax and shares (net) than had initially been assessed by their fiscal authorities. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that the municipalities in Sachsen profited most from the old Länder (+91 million euros), followed by Berlin (+63 million) and Sachsen-Anhalt (+58 million).
