WIESBADEN – At the end of the fourth quarter of 2015, the debt of the Federation, Länder and municipalities/associations of municipalities in Germany, including all core and extra budgets, amounted to 2,025.6 billion euros. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that this was a decrease in debt of 1.1%, or 22.7 billion euros, from the end of the fourth quarter of 2014.
Compared with 31 December 2014, the debt of the Federation was down by 1.8% or 23.7 billion euros to stand at 1,262.9 billion euros on 31 December 2015.
