WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), turnover in the German accommodation and food service activities in January 2016 increased by 1.7% in real terms and by 4.0% in nominal terms compared with the corresponding month of the previous year.
After adjustment for calendar and seasonal effects (Census X-12-ARIMA) the turnover in January 2016 was in real terms 0.5% and in nominal terms 0.4% smaller than that in the previous month.

Starting today, the press release will contain calendar and seasonally adjusted values that have been calculated by means of the Census X-12-ARIMA method. Calendar and seasonally adjusted values which have been calculated by means of the method used so far (Berliner method 4.1/ BV 4.1) will additionally be available at Short-term indicators and in GENESIS-Online.
