WIESBADEN – In 2014, German health expenditure amounted to a total of 328 billion euros. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that this was an increase of 13.3 billion euros or 4.2% from 2013. Health expenditure per inhabitant amounted to 4,050 euros (2013: 3,902 euros). In 2014, health expenditure accounted for 11.2% of the gross domestic product. The figure remained unchanged from 2013.
