WIESBADEN – In Germany roughly 235,000 people were employed in the energy and water supply sector at the end of December 2015. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was a decrease of 0.5% on December 2014.
There were different trends within the energy and water supply sector. In December 2015 the number of persons employed in gas supply was up 3.6% year on year. In contrast, fewer people were working in steam and air conditioning supply (–2.4%), water supply (–1.2%), and electricity supply (–0.6%).
