WIESBADEN – On 31 December 2014, roughly 5.2 million people worked in the health sector in Germany. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was an increase of roughly 102,000, or 2.0%, compared with the end of 2013.
Hence, the positive employment trend observed in the last five years continued in 2014. Between 2009 and 2014, the number of persons employed in the health sector increased by a total 476,000, or 10.0%.
