WIESBADEN – In Germany, 61% of the businesses consider e-government as an important factor affecting their perception of government services. This was reported today by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) at a press conference during which results from a business survey were presented. The survey collected information on the businesses' perception of administrative burdens in selected situations. By contrast, only 30% of the citizens consider e-government as important. The possibility of using the internet to take care of administrative matters is a focal point of the Federal Government's programme to reduce bureaucracy.
