Press 2015 increase in retail turnover expected to be about nearly 3% in real terms

WIESBADEN – According to estimates of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), retail turnover 2015 in Germany is expected to be in real terms between 2.8% and 3.1% larger than that in 2014. In nominal terms turnover is expected to increase by between also 2.8% and 3.1%. 

This estimation is based on data for the first eleven months of 2015. In this period retail turnover was in real terms 2.8% and in nominal terms also 2.8% larger than that in the corresponding period of the previous year. 

According to provisional data turnover in retail trade in November 2015 was in real terms 2.3% and in nominal terms 2.8% larger than that in November 2014. The number of days open for sale was 25 in November 2015 and 25 in November 2014, too. 

When adjusted for calendar and seasonal variations (Census-X-12-ARIMA), the November turnover was in real terms 0.2% and in nominal terms 0.3% larger than that in October 2015.
