WIESBADEN – On an annual average, the inflation rate in Germany as measured by the consumer price index is expected to be 0.3% in 2015 compared with 2014. Based on the results available so far, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the inflation rate is expected to stand at 0.3% in December 2015. Compared with November 2015, consumer prices are expected to be down by 0.1%.

The harmonised index of consumer prices for Germany, which is calculated for European purposes, is expected to be up by 0.1% in 2015 as compared with 2014. In December 2015, the harmonised consumer price index is expected to show a year-on-year increase of 0.2% and to remain unchanged compared with November 2015.
The final results for December 2015 will be released on 19 January 2016.
