Methods BV4.1

The Berlin method (Berliner Verfahren) is a mathematical statistical method for determining trend cycle developments of economic time series and carrying out seasonal adjustments.
The mathematical bases of this method were developed together by Technische Universität Berlin and the German Institute for Economic Research in the late 1960s. The Berlin method has been used at the Federal Statistical Office since 1972. Version BV4.1 has been in use since 2004.
